Guidance for Behavioral Health/First Choice Counseling, LLC serves children and families that are faced with some of life’s most difficult challenges. Maybe a youth is in danger of being removed from the home or is returning home from foster care or a juvenile justice facility. Perhaps at school there have been incidences of fighting, bullying, or poor attendance. There may even be issues of grief, substance abuse, running away, or trauma exposure at home.

​Our goal is to supply families with the tools they need to to discover their untapped strength and overcome their struggles.

Guidance for Behavioral Health/First Choice Counseling, LLC accepts referrals from many different sources who are invested in the life of a child- parents and other relatives, teachers, FINS Officers, Probation Officers, and DCFS workers to name a few.

• An initial assessment to determine each family’s strengths and challenges
• Case management to identify specific services required
• Intensive counseling sessions with masters level therapists for teens, parents, and the family unit
• Crisis intervention for emergency help, 24 hours a day
• Life skills training
• Family Advocacy
